updates before bed

I don't want to go on too much about work. I will say though, that I think that the store is going to do very well. We are getting busier every week so far, and I am quite excited to see the team growing and getting better every day. There are still some wrinkles to be ironed, the odd person or two who doesn't see the big picture about the restaurant, but they will be dealt with in time. And there is the ongoing issue of the ventilation in the kitchen, a leaky ice machine and the cooler that stopped working. These things happen, and thank you one year warranty on everything for keeping me from worrying too much about them.

Christmas was great. I was blessed to spend it with people I love, and love me back. My new beard trimmer seems to be on steroids compared to the last one, and I had to be careful not to lose my nose this morning.

We have a second Lucy in our family now, a sweet and gorgeous 2 year old black lab (crossed with what we speculate to be border collie) who is mostly well trained, gentle with people (including the kids) and has nothing but love to give. We rescued her from the Delta animal shelter, and any doubt if this was the perfect dog for us was gone very quickly.

This weekend and the start of next week brings not only a new year, but a new house too. It's not really a new house, but is new to us. We get to move "up" the ladder on to the top floor and out of the basement. I am so excited for that, and the extra space we will have. Not too excited about the moving part though, which I believe I have droned on about elsewhere on this blog. (we have moved once or twice before).

Alas, the end of my day has come and I must sleep now, for I have pieces in place that have allowed me a day off tomorrow, and along with that, a date with my wonderful, beautiful, amazing and blessed wife.

HEy you guys we are getting internet at our house this week so we will do better keeping in touch! I am excited to keep up on my blog also. Tell the children hello and that that awful mother pig had her 6 piglets and trampled all but one to death, rest assured though that the pig farmers wife hit that mama pig pretty good with a shovel a few times to try and save as many as she could but in the end only one survived. I guess that may not be the best news but certainly the most interesting.
